Description

Mixed bushveld lying under the southern slopes of the Kransberg, game fenced on all four sides and run as a commercial hunting farm since 1998. The bush is thick on the eastern half and opens onto turf flats towards the western boundary.

Access is 18 km of district gravel off the Thabazimbi road, maintained by the municipality. Two neighbours have dropped internal fences, giving the game a larger effective range.

Improvements

Hunting lodge sleeping ten in five twin rooms, with a lapa, skinning shed and walk-in cold room. Separate three-bedroom owner’s house and quarters for three staff.

One equipped borehole at 4 500 litres an hour feeding two reservoirs and six drinking points. Perimeter is 2.4 m game fence, replaced in sections over the last five years.

Wildlife & vegetation

Sour bushveld with red bushwillow and silver cluster-leaf on the slopes, turning to sweeter grazing on the turf flats. Carrying capacity is comfortable at current numbers.

Resident game includes kudu, impala, blue wildebeest, zebra, warthog and duiker, with brown hyena recorded on camera traps.
